Platelet rich plasma, PRP – combines the trend in holistic and natural treatments with highly advanced technology. PRP accelerates our body’s natural healing process. This type of therapy has been used to heal ligament and tendon injuries, such as those suffered by athletes who need to heal quickly and get back in their game. As the study of this technology continues, the benefits continue to grow. PRP is accepted by your body, is fast-acting with quick noticeable results, and is more affordable than some alternatives.
Our facility is one of the first in Cincinnati to utilize PRP therapy in new ways. We use PRP in facials for skin rejuvenation, in the management of urinary incontinence, and for sexual enhancement including erectile dysfunction.
After drawing blood, the platelets and plasma are separated from other blood components in a centrifuge. The platelets within the plasma are then exposed to a small amount of calcium chloride, much like they would be in your body after an injury. The calcium chloride activates the platelets to release their growth factors into the plasma. The plasma, now rich with growth factors, is injected back into your body to stimulate new tissue growth. In aesthetic procedures, the PRP stimulates new collagen and supporting structures to revitalize skin. In sexual health procedures, PRP promotes the growth of new blood vessels, nerve tissue, and structural tissue to help with sexual performance, sensitivity, and overall function of sexual organs.
What’s old is made new! It truly is an anti-aging mini-miracle each time we refresh a patient’s body with platelet rich plasma. You will see the results in one day to one week, depending on the areas undergoing treatment. Minimal swelling and redness may occur, but there is no pain and typically no discomfort.
Many studies have found PRP therapy to be safe and in most cases, effective in a variety of applications. In over 50,000 procedures using PRP injections, there have been no side effects or complications.
Our medical doctors and the entire team at our center welcome every inquiry and question. It is our desire to fully inform our clients regarding their options and the treatments that we provide. Your overall well-being is of the utmost importance to us. We look forward to hearing from you.
The PRP facial uses platelet-rich plasma sourced from your own blood to enhance the youthful glow of the skin and rejuvenate tired, worn tissues of the face and neck. We utilize PRP therapy, platelet rich plasma, described on the PRP page of this site.
For this procedure, after using an anesthetic cream to numb the skin, a micro-needling procedure is performed creating tiny dermal wounds. Extracted platelet-rich plasma is then smoothed over the patient’s entire face and neck and left to seep into the skin through the tiny “wounds.” Once applied, PRP activates stem cells within your facial skin. The stem cells produce new tissue, such as collagen, elastin, and blood vessels. The result is skin that becomes smoother, firmer, and vibrant, like it used to be when you were younger.
What’s really wonderful about PRP Facials is that the benefits are noticeable within a few days, and they typically continue to improve over the coming weeks. The plasma continues to work. PRP therapy in conjunction with Micro-Needling has been used successfully for all sorts of facial problems such as poor complexion, acne scars, discoloration and brown spots, sun damage and lines.
Your skin may appear to be lightly pink for a day or two, but you can wear makeup 24 hours after the treatment. Because your skin absorbs chemicals, the makeup and other skin products you use should be high quality and have minimal amounts of fillers and chemicals. We will help you choose good clean products for your skin and avoid toxins, helping your new look last longer!
